I watched Frankenstein and the first episode of Pluribus on (11/11) and I've gotta say. Absolute cinema.

Frankenstein

"But you were like a child, so excited, clutching your new pet so tightly that you're strangling it." Haha. Ha. :)

It was really funny for the captain to see the creature walk into the room and be like "yeah you know what? let's hear his side of the story." And man, am I glad that we got to hear The Creature's perspective.

With Victor being so obsessed by cheating death due to his mom dying and yet repeating the same cycle of abuse that his father put him through to the creature, it makes him a lot less sympathetic. Good. Little freak.

Elizabeth talking to Victor about how The Creature was in a pure state of being and Victor scoffing it off as some religious tirade... but she was right! Discounting religion, The Creature is in a pure state, like a child, and Victor is expecting him to have the intelligence level of the dead men he's comprised of.

The Creature saying Elizabeth's name (literally one of the two words he knows when he realizes saying Victor won't work) making Victor double down on killing him was kinda funny, especially with the way he said it. Victor thinking that the only reason that Elizabeth would be nice to The Creature is because of attraction and then later on the creature asking for a companion and Victor immediately thinking of it in a sexual sense. His thoughts on women (and mainly Elizabeth) must be studied.

I've got some issues with the ending, but I'm not too surprised by it. del Toro likes to make his stories about ending the cycle of abuse and forgiveness, but I still don't think The Creature should have forgiven Victor. Some reviews said it was weird that The Creature didn't commit any violence and didn't act like a monster, but I don't really know if I agree with that. Does something have to be violent to be a monster? He was attacked for looking like one by complete strangers time and time again.

Less of the review, but if I saw that thing staring down at me like he did the captain, I'd lose it. Like I really would. The head tilt, too much eye contact. I need him. I mean what.

Pluribus Ep. 1

The plurbing (I am calling it getting plurb'd) is so gross. I'd get plurb'd very easily though because if someone offered me free food, I don't even think about if they did something to it, tbh. I'm so fucking cooked chat.
Carol makes me so mad, she's so uncurious bro. Like okay, yes your wife just died, sorry about that. But like... the plurb'd aren't really being malicious to her and they lowkey seem kinda chill. I'd be asking a lot more questions about what it feels like to be plurb'd, if I'm compatible with the process, am I still me but with the knowledge of everyone else on Earth with connection to everyone else or am I now a singular being made up of everyone. ASK MORE QUESTIONS!! They're doing a very good job at making me want to shake Carol.

I'd give Frankenstein a 4/5 stars and Pluribus Episode 1 4.5/5.
